Ghiotti brand Chorizo Velita has been recalled due to the product being labelled with the incorrect date mark.
The recall was announced on the 6th of March 2026 by Granarolo New Zealand Limited.
Ghiotti brand Chorizo Velita (150g) with a Best Before of 21.05.2026 was affected by this recall. The correct date mark was Use By 21/02/2026
The product was sold in 150g plastic packaging and was imported from Spain. This recall does not affect any other Ghiotti brand products.
The product was sold at supermarkets and retailers throughout New Zealand and was not re-exported.
The affected product should not be consumed. There have been no reports of associated illness. If consumers have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about their health, seek medical advice.
Customers should also return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
Retailers of this product can download a copy of the point-of-sale notice and must display it in store for one month.
