The Grocery Industry Competition Bill is currently in its third stage. In this stage, the bill sits with the select committee, which looks at the Bill submissions and advice and makes any necessary changes, before preparing it for a second reading.
A total of 29 submissions to the Bill were made. Woolworths NZ, The New Zealand Food and Grocery Council, the Commerce Commission, Consumer NZ, Night ‘n Day Foodstores, T and G Fresh, The Warehouse Group and United Fresh New Zealand Inc., were some of the organisations that made submissions.
Foodstuffs did not make a submission.
