Steinlager Ultra Low Carb beer was recalled because it was incorrectly labelled as alcohol-free.
Lion NZ (LION) Limited announced the recall on the 4th of March 2026.
Steinlager Ultra Low Carb 24 Pack (24 x 330 ml) beer with a best-before date of 21/10/26 was affected by this recall.
The product was sold in a cardboard box containing 24 clear glass bottles (330 ml). Some individual bottles have been incorrectly labelled as alcohol-free. However, the product contains 4.2 percent alcohol.
The date marking on the outer cardboard box reads "BEST BEFORE 21/10/26". The date marking on the individual bottles reads "BB 21/10/26".
This recall does not affect any other Steinlager brand products. The product was sold at retailers and hospitality businesses throughout New Zealand. The product was not exported.
Customers are asked to check the date mark on the box and individual bottles. Consumers concerned with the alcohol content should not consume this product. They can contact LION on 0800 835 554 for a full refund.
