BIGGER STORE NOW OPEN IN REDWOODTOWN

Countdown Redwoodtown supermarket has finally opened its doors, creating 24 additional jobs that bring the total team to 75. The store offers wider aisles, a bigger fresh produce department, full service deli, energy efficient fittings and a postal service.

“This supermarket will serve our growing population on the south side of town,” said Marlborough Mayor Alistair Sowman. “I would expect the increased customer base at the new supermarket to create a positive spin-off for neighbouring businesses in Redwoodtown.”

The new store will join Countdown’s Food Rescue programme, and a first $500 trolley of groceries for the local Salvation Army foodbank was presented at the opening event.
