Over the past ten years, more than half a million Kiwi babies have received a free Colgate toothbrush and toothpaste at the five-month Plunket visit.

Colgate is celebrating this decade-long partnership with Plunket and the New Zealand Dental Association by extending its programme to help Kiwi again at four years old before they start school. As part of the Plunket B4 School Check programme, Kiwi kids will be given free toothbrushes and pastes.

“Around 29,000 children in New Zealand had teeth extracted in the past year due to childhood tooth decay, and we’re talking about a problem that is largely preventable,” said Dr Rebecca Schipper, Colgate dentist, according to whom parents often underestimate the consequences of a poor dental hygiene.
