HELPING FAMILIES IN NEED

Until May 17, The Salvation Army volunteers will be collecting donations outside more than 180 Countdown stores, as part of the annual Red Shield Appeal to help Kiwi families in need. Donations will help fund a range of support services, including life-skills programmes, food, clothing and budgeting advice.
“We’d encourage Kiwis to help us catch those falling into desperate needs so we can keep providing these essential services,” said Major Pam Waugh, national secretary of social services, The Salvation Army.
