‘LACK OF PRIVACY’ COMPLAINTS IN PICTON STORE

Picton residents are complaining about the lack of space in the Fresh Choice supermarket post office, installed last September along with an over-the-counter Kiwibank service. Although most customers, no longer needing to travel to Blenheim for basic operations, appreciated the new arrangement, some claimed that the lack of space resulted in a lack of privacy, ultimately making them uncomfortable about giving their personal details. Moreover, as the post office was located near the checkouts, large queues were forming.

According to owners Hamish and Heide Watson, however, besides a very few complaints the community was actually satisfied with the post office remaining in town.
