Prolife Foods Limited has recalled specific batches of its Value Pack and Refill Pack products containing peanuts as these products contain aflatoxin levels above the allowable level.
Aflatoxins naturally occur in many food products, especially those from hot and tropical climates.
Although aflatoxin levels in the New Zealand diet are typically low and not harmful, regular consumption of food products with elevated levels of aflatoxin can cause harm.

The clear plastic packaging is used to sell the products. These products are distributed in selected supermarkets and retail stores across New Zealand but not Countdown and Woolworths stores.
Stores that have sold affected products have displayed a Food Recall Notice. The affected products are not available for purchase outside of New Zealand.
Retailers of the products in this recall are advised to display the point of sale notice in their store for one month, which can be downloaded online.
Customers are advised to check the date mark on the product and consult the Food Recall Notice displayed at the point of purchase.
Consuming affected products is not recommended. If you have consumed the product and are concerned about your health, please seek medical advice.
Customers can return the product to their retailer for a full refund.
