Family-owned Kiwi brand has been recognised as New Zealand’s top ice cream maker.
Much Moore’s Wonders Strawberry Low Fat Yoghurt Ice Cream has been crowned Supreme Champion at the 2025 NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards, beating more than 260 entries to take out the top prize, a category-defying win that proves innovation in “better for you” ice cream can deliver indulgence too.
The Auckland-based, family-owned company secured Category Champion titles in Classic Vanilla (Marvels Creamy Vanilla) and Low Fat Ice Cream or Frozen Yoghurt (Wonders Strawberry Low Fat Yoghurt) and took home 33 medals (including 10 golds).
The NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards are the benchmark celebration of New Zealand’s NZD 500 million ice cream industry, judged by expert panels on flavour, texture, and creativity.
New Zealanders eat more ice cream per capita than any other country globally, making this one of the toughest and discerning markets in the world to win. Much Moore has been making ice cream for over 30 years and has built its reputation on pairing Kiwi classics with bold innovation.
This year’s line-up ranged from medal-winning staples like Marvels Creamy Vanilla to inventive limited editions such as Cereal Milk, recently released and already trending in supermarket freezer aisles.
“Winning Supreme Champion with a low-fat yoghurt ice cream really says it all,” said Managing Director Marcus Moore.
“It shows that better-for-you innovation can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with indulgent classics and even take out the industry’s top prize. We have made fantastic frozen yoghurt for over 20 years. We like to think we have perfected this. We make over 40,000 litres of frozen yoghurt each week.”
With its Supreme Champion title and 33-medal haul, Much Moore has cemented its position as a leader in ice cream quality and innovation, and the team is already at work on the next flavour drop to surprise and delight New Zealanders.
