Original Foods Baking Co. has been a much-loved landmark bakery in New Zealand since 1991 and will mark the milestone of its 30th birthday this year by giving away $30,000 worth of baked goodies!
To honour the occasion, from Friday 11 June until Friday 9 July, the bakery will give away 100 boxes of delicious baked goods to lucky New Zealanders across the country. 25 winners will be chosen each week.
Original Foods Baking Co. is also sharing the birthday love by donating pallets of their product to food banks and charities, including the Salvation Army. Gifts of sweet treats will also be offered at Food Service trade shows.
The total value of prizes and donations amounts to a whopping $30,000!
Company CEO, Anthony Honeybone said the whole team feels proud to reach the major milestone of three decades in business and would be celebrating it in style, unsurprisingly, with cake!
“We are humbled to have the loyalty and support of all our customers for so many years and we want to give back, share and celebrate with as many people as we can,” said Honeybone.
“Literally, the icing on the cake after such a challenging year in our country is to be able to celebrate how our community supports each other; so we’re doing that in the best way we know how!”
The locally owned, wholesale bakery first began selling donuts to fish and chip shops and has since grown into a multi-channel, multi-award winning, multi-million dollar turnover business with more than 180 staff.
Today, the wholesale baked goods company produces over 100 delicious, sweet treats including cakes, donuts, muffins, brownies and slices sold under the Original Foods Baking Co™, Goofy™, Bite Me™ and generic supermarket brands.
Original Foods Baking Co. products are sold through supermarkets, cafes and restaurants across New Zealand and internationally in Australia and the Pacific Islands.
The bakery also has its own onsite café, “The Donut Destination”, dedicated to amazing donuts and other goodies direct from the bakery door. Last Friday (4 June) the company celebrated National Donut Day.
To celebrate the occasion over 1000 free donuts were given away to a queue of hungry customers that lined up around the block.
