Christmas came early for the team at Pams (Foodstuffs) as the staff packed Christmas cheer and full flavours into care packages for New Zealand Defence Force members currently serving in far-flung parts of the world.

“Christmas was a challenging time to be deployed because it was the time personnel missed their families the most,” said Major General Tim Gall, Commander Joint Forces New Zealand.

Rod Gibson, GM Foodstuffs Own Brands added that “We really don’t understand the sacrifices many service men and women make – being away from their loved ones at special times of the year like Christmas. Pams has donated products for projects like this for a while now – and every time we pack a whole lot of love into these much-anticipated gifts.”

The packages included quality Kiwi treats like Pams Finest Salted Caramel and Almond Cookies, licorice treats, pesto and Pams Finest Dark Chocolate Almond Butter. A special addition to the packages were cards and well wishes from Mt Cook Primary School and Silverstream Primary School children.

The packs will be on their way soon to be enjoyed by soldiers, sailors and airmen serving in the NZDF’s 15 missions overseas.
