UK Adams Foods has decided to stop sourcing from Australia and New Zealand for its Pilgrims Choice mature and extra-mature Cheddar cheese, switching to UK and Irish-sourced produce instead.
“This is a quality play, not just a provenance play, but we have also listened to criticism from farmers over how we source cheese for the brand,” said Mike Harper, director of marketing at Adams Foods, making reference to the controversy that last year forced the brand to provide a clearer origin labelling.
