Countdown has increased the cost of the bag charge from $1 to $1.50 for all online orders. In an email to customers, the company said the increase is due to a rise in global paper and pulp prices.
The new charge will come into effect from Friday, 21 October and is a flat fee that applies to all orders with the exception of Pick Up customers who choose to bring their own bags.
Countdown continues to look for alternatives for online customers. However, it views paper bags as the best and most workable alternative available at the moment.
