The latest Inspire+ event, From Shelf to Shopper, on the 16th of October, at ANZ Sylvia Park.
A strong turnout of guests from across New Zealand’s FMCG industry enjoyed a morning packed with insights, discussion, and networking, followed by a relaxed lunch where attendees connected with peers and speakers alike.
Sam Price, Co-founder of Stocked, opened the session with a dynamic look at what it takes for emerging brands to win in today’s retail environment. He shared strategies on securing distribution, earning shelf space, and keeping products moving in a market where both retailers and shoppers are more selective than ever.
Deane Hubball, CEO of Focus Insights (Australia), explored how consumers are adapting to grocery inflation. From switching brands and chasing promotions, he revealed how evolving behaviour is reshaping strategy across key categories.
Closing the morning, Andrew Arnold, Country Director for Shopper Intelligence NZ, shared findings from the latest State of the Nation Report. He noted that shopper satisfaction has climbed to its highest level in a decade, even amid shrinkflation. Shoppers are demanding better value for money, clearer pre-store guidance, and simpler shelf navigation, insights that signal where major retailers can improve.
The ANZ team rounded out the session with an overview of how they support small businesses through trade finance and growth funding, reinforcing that collaboration and insight remain central to New Zealand’s vibrant F&B landscape.
The Inspire+ team will continue to connect and empower professionals across the food, beverage, and retail sectors through exclusive events, resources, and thought-leadership content.
