Tahini: More Product Recall

Tahini

Following the recall of several products from brands Lisa’s, Greater! And Prep Kitchen, which contained Tahini potentially contaminated with Salmonella, more brands have been discovered to be compromised and are facing product recalls.

Seasons Gourmet and Turkish Kitchen products containing Tahini sourced from Turkey have been recalled for fear of potential salmonella contamination.

“Salmonellosis can be serious, so people mustn't eat these products, or those from Lisa’s, Greater! And Prep Kitchen recalled yesterday,” said New Zealand Food Safety Deputy Director-General Vince Arbuckle.

Products can be returned to their place of purchase for a refund, or if this is not possible, discarded.

Arbuckle urges anyone who has consumed products from the above brands or is concerned about their health to contact their healthcare professional or call  Healthline on 0800 611 116.

This recall also affects My Food Bag consumers, as the enterprise has a relationship with Turkish Kitchen brand products containing potentially contaminated Tahini. The company has begun to conduct a recall internally.
