TOP INNOVATIONS AWARDED AT ISM 2016

A 3D printer for fruit gums, wasabi-flavoured coconut crisps and an edible digital selfie have been named ‘top innovations’ at ISM 2016 New Product Showcase, as part of the international trade fair.
Around 1,600 exhibitors from 65 countries were attending, and several hundred visitors took part in the voting, with the three top products triumphing for their creativity and diversity against 120 entries.
A world’s first, the Magic Candy Factory by Katjes is able to print out fruit gums in different designs, colours and flavours, all made of natural fruit and vegetable extracts, without animal gelatin. Second place went to a naturally vegan, gluten-free and high-energy snack product, Spicy wasabi-flavoured coconut crisps, launched by German brand Heimagut.
A company from Taiwan, Boncha Boncha, took third place with its edible digital selfie. Once the company receives an order via its website, photos are applied to sweets and lollies, becoming innovative giveaways or personal gifts.
