FreshChoice has announced the opening of two new stores last week.
The stores in Raglan and Greerton resulted from a comprehensive rebranding and refurbishment initiative aimed at better serving local communities.
FreshChoice Executive General Manager Tim Cartwright said the retailer was thrilled to welcome these two new FreshChoice stores to the family.
"These openings represent our commitment to providing New Zealand communities with access to fresh, high-quality groceries and a welcoming shopping experience,” said Cartwright.
Sanjay and Rajni Sharma, the owner-operators of FreshChoice Raglan, have run the store under the SuperValue banner for ten years. The transformation to FreshChoice has given them a renewed passion and commitment to supporting the Raglan community and creating a store better suited to the needs of locals and tourists.
Some of the features of the rejuvenated store include expanded fresh food departments, new hot food options for lunchtime shoppers, self-checkout lanes for added convenience and electronic shelf labels for a modern shopping experience.
“Raglan boasts both an engaged and welcoming community but also a bustling tourist trade. We set out with this transformation to create a store that meets both of these needs and wants,” said the Sharmas.
“Managing this store for ten years has been a pleasure, and we feel very fortunate to be a part of the Raglan community. We look forward to serving the community for many more years to come.”
After the closure of Woolworths Greerton was announced last month, Alex and Laura Mason saw an opportunity to bring a fresh shopping experience to the community. The store is now back open and will serve the people of Greerton as FreshChoice.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to operate a FreshChoice store in Greerton. The community can expect to see some familiar faces in the team, as we are proud to have re-employed many of our former staff,” said the Masons.
“We’re committed to ensuring that Greerton residents have access to a great shopping experience, with a focus on fresh, high-quality products and excellent customer service."
Both stores have committed to supporting local suppliers and offer a wide selection of products catering to their communities' unique tastes and preferences.
