Wonky Box has entered a bold new chapter with the launch of Good Groceries by Wonky, a reimagined grocery concept for conscious shoppers.
Designed to make the weekly shop simpler, smarter and fairer, Good Groceries by Wonky plans to deliver quality goods while championing local growers, farmers and producers.
Shoppers can enjoy ethically-farmed and traceable groceries that are good for everyone, all backed by Wonky Box’s freshness guarantee.
Good Groceries by Wonky will launch with two new virtual aisles:
- Fridge Fillers - Wonky Box’s first-ever chilled range, featuring butcher-quality meat bundles, cheeses, and deli staples from trusted New Zealand producers and distributors.
- Refillables - A refillable range of grains, pulses and dry goods - in compostable packaging.
These will sit alongside the existing Wonky Pantry, a mix of rescued and responsibly sourced staples, from surplus and short-dated items to dented-but-delicious finds, plus cupboard heroes such as sauces, condiments, baking goods, and preserves.
“Fridge Fillers marks our entry into chilled groceries with the launch of our new Farmers Meat Boxes - traceable, butcher-quality bundles handpicked from New Zealand farmers recognised for their sustainable practices and high standards,” said Angus Simms, Co-Founder of Wonky Box.
This meat offering has been designed to complement the fresh fruit and veg boxes by adding that essential protein on the plate, with a focus on traceability and value-driven cuts.
The selection of meats will change week to week, and customers can expect a variety of options, including quality free-range chicken thighs and breasts, free-range pork chops, beef rump steaks, gourmet sausages, and New Zealand grass-fed beef mince.
While not everything in the Fridge Fillers range will be ‘wonky’, consumers can still expect a few perfectly imperfect surprises, like cheese off-cuts and salami ends.
Katie Jackson, Co-Founder of Wonky Box, added that shoppers deserved to know where their food came from and to feel confident that farmers, growers and producers are supported in the process.
“In supermarkets, apples are proudly labelled 'Grown in the Hawke’s Bay' or oranges from Gisborne. Just as with fruit and veg, we believe shoppers deserve to know where their meat comes from, how the animals were raised, and that their purchase supports good people doing good things,” she said.
Good Groceries by Wonky will launch on the 17th of October 2025, expanding the Wonky Box offering with new Fridge Fillers and Refillables ranges.
