AUSTRALIA | Leading fresh fruit and vegetable supplier Premier Fresh has been named Woolworths Trade Partner of the Year.
Woolworths presented eleven awards in total in Sydney to some of the country’s best-known suppliers, as well as emerging brands.
Managing Director - Woolworths Retail, Annette Karantoni, said that Woolworths works with thousands of trade partners every day to provide customers with close to 30,000 products.
The annual Trade Partner of the Year awards have been about recognising the very best, and Karantoni said choosing winners from dozens of nominees is never easy.
“So many of them also go above and beyond when it comes to consistently showing us the best way to partner, demonstrating trust, driving product innovation and working with us to deliver great value for our customers,” said Karantoni.
“The first thing our customers see when they enter our stores is our amazing, fresh fruit and vegetable display. This is core to who we are as the Fresh Food People, and it’s absolutely fitting that Premier Fresh has been named our Trade Partner of the Year.”
The Premier Fresh team consistently delivers exceptional fruit and veg for customers to enjoy all year-round, sets the standard for the very best farming practices, and is focused on ensuring a sustainable future in fresh produce.
Investing in its grower portfolio and on-farm quality, the business has worked with Woolworths for over 50 years, and the partnership is defined by driving shared outcomes through effective communication.
Other recognised supply partners included Unilever, Queensland-based egg producer Sunny Queen Farms, and Victoria-based confectioner Funday Natural Sweets.
“As our Large Grocery Trade Partner of the Year, Unilever delivers best in class when it comes to alignment and energy between our two businesses, always delivering exciting category innovation and exceptional event execution.”
Sunny Queen Farms has been recognised as another exceptional partner in the chilled, bakery and deli category.
Karantoni mentioned that eggs have been a staple for Australian families. In response to the deeply challenging Avian Influenza outbreaks, Sunny Queen Farms stepped up quickly and went above and beyond to ensure supply continuity.
Defined by incredible communication, transparency and agility, as well as a passion for quality, animal welfare and category growth, they are an indispensable trade partner for Woolworths.
“Funday is our Small Grocery Trade Partner of the Year, and has done an incredible job in product innovation, developing great Health Star-rated sweets that deliver on taste,” added Karantoni.
“Our partnership accelerated in 2025 with 10 exclusive lines that have driven strong sales growth, and the team partners so well with us across our entire business, from supply chain to field merchandising.”
