AUSTRALIA | This August, Woolworths customers can help Aussies in need access essential period care by donating five cents from every period care item purchased to Share the Dignity.
The donations made by Woolworths will support Share the Dignity to maintain its national network of more than 110 Dignity Vending Machines, which provide free period care in essential community hubs, shelters, domestic violence refuges, hospitals and schools.
As part of the August Dignity Drive, pink collection boxes have also returned to the front of all Woolworths supermarkets.
Customers can make direct donations of period care products in their original packaging, including pads and tampons, menstrual cups, menstrual discs, period undies, reusable pads, and incontinence aids.
Woolworths Community Partnerships Manager Loretta Arrastia said there was an incredible buzz and enthusiasm from store teams and customers as the pink boxes returned to the front of stores.
“We are so grateful to every shopper who supports Share the Dignity," she said.
"Thanks to that ongoing, collective community spirit, we have collected more than 1.5 million period products over the last seven years to help ensure no one has to go without essential care.”
Since 2019, Woolworths has donated more than AUD 3.5 million to Share the Dignity through multiple Dignity Drives.
