AUSTRALIA | Woolworths has reinforced its commitment to providing customers with market-leading ultra-convenient grocery delivery options with a new partnership with DoorDash.
The DoorDash partnership will commence soon and add to Woolworths' already extensive on-demand grocery offering, which now represents a significant 40 percent of all ecommerce orders for the supermarket.
With more than 12 million weekly visits to the Woolworths app and website, customers can do their shopping on demand and earn Everyday Rewards points through a supermarket leading convenience offer that includes:
- Delivery Now: An offering unique to Woolworths, this service delivers a full grocery shop in under two hours from over 700 stores.
- Direct to Boot Now: Ideal for the drive home, customers can pick up their order from their local store in under 60 minutes.
Customers can also meet their immediate needs on the MILKRUN app, where groceries are delivered in minutes (on average, 33 minutes) from over 630 Woolworths stores. This offer includes an extensive supermarket range, including hot chooks, thousands of weekly specials and Everyday Rewards points.
“Customers continue to look for more fast and flexible options to fulfill their grocery needs. Whether it’s MILKRUN for the missing dinner ingredient in 30 or so minutes or a full weekly shop via Delivery Now delivered in less than 2 hours, we continue to invest in a range of On-Demand options to meet customers where they are," said Woolworths Group Managing Director, eComX, Amitabh Mall.
“These strategic investments are now well-established, scaled and focused on delivering the best overall experience for customers across Australia. Partnering now with DoorDash allows us to add another convenient option that will leverage our extensive store network to reach more customers, more often, through platforms they already use every day.”
The DoorDash partnership further expands the convenience offering, allowing customers to soon browse and purchase a wide range of Woolworths products on the delivery app, including pantry staples, fresh food, and household essentials.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Woolworths to DoorDash. Woolworths is Australia’s largest supermarket, and its arrival soon on our platform reflects our commitment to expanding choice, convenience and value for customers," said Vice President APAC, DoorDash, Simon Rossi.
“Consumer choice is at the heart of what we do at DoorDash, and with Woolworths joining our platform, we’re more excited than ever to bring even more grocery selection to more households across the country.”
Woolworths also recently announced it was offering Australia’s most convenient festive shop, with an additional one million online order slots available this month in the lead-up to Christmas.
