A Kiwi artist has redesigned the packaging of renowned and recognisable speciality chocolates with their mum in mind.
FLOX, the New Zealand artist and businesswoman, has redesigned the classic Cadbury Roses packaging in dedication to her biggest supporter, her mum.
Released just in time for Mother’s Day, the limited-edition design box has been reimagined to thank the women who have been there from day one for their children and to celebrate our unique connection with them.
“Being a solo artist and businesswoman, and now a mother myself, I’m incredibly grateful to have always had my mum to support me through all the highs and lows in life and business,” shared FLOX.
The artist elaborated that teaming up with Cadbury Roses to create a limited-edition design for its much-loved gift box for Mother’s Day felt the perfect way to thank her mother and acknowledge all the incredible mothers across New Zealand.
“My Tūī and Pūriri design is inspired by the unique connection with nature and the mutualistic relationship between our manu (birds) and their surrounding habitats, much like the ones we have with our māmās.”
As the first in her family to enter the world of art, FLOX leaned on her mum for support throughout her career. FLOX added that although she and her mother’s professional worlds were different, her mother supported her through various challenges faced by business owners.
“As women in business, sometimes we feel like we have to do everything ourselves, but that is not the case. For Mother’s Day this year, I wanted to design something extra special to acknowledge all the special women in our life and the invaluable support they provide us.”
Nicola Robertson of Cadbury New Zealand stated that mums and mother figures support so many through their much in children’s lives, from encouraging them to pursue their dreams to help them be achieved.
Robertson shared that the company had wanted to find a way to honour mums and mother figures this Mother’s Day. FLOX’s iconic trademark native birds and flowers beautifully illustrated the natural connections so many have with their mothers.
According to Robertson, FLOX, as a multi-talented Kiwi artist, businesswoman and mother, had been a privilege to work with.
“We hope mums and mother figures across New Zealand love it too.”
The Cadbury Roses Mother’s Day limited-edition design box is now available alongside the classic CADBURY ROSES range in supermarkets, dairies and convenience stores.
