SIAL has inaugurated its SIAL Best Steak Awards (SIAL BSA), an esteemed competition to showcase premium steak products from SIAL's esteemed meat producers, importers, and traders.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of SIAL Shanghai, this event serves as a dynamic platform for beef producers and traders to spotlight their offerings without any entry fee.
A distinguished panel comprising seasoned professionals from the meat industry, catering firms, supply chain entities, and various other sectors will convene to evaluate entries based on appearance, aroma, colour, marbling, flavour, and overall meat quality, both in their raw and cooked states.
Ensuring transparency and integrity, the judging process will adhere to rigorous standards to identify the most exceptional steak products of the year. Winning entries and their producers will receive the prestigious SIAL official steak awards and be prominently featured in SIAL's extensive brand and omnichannel marketing campaigns.
Through SIAL BSA, SIAL has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing culinary talent, fostering industry collaboration, and elevating quality standards within steak production.
Participants submit their product information online through SIAL's official website, where the panel of judges will pre-screen all entries, and those that pass will be displayed onsite.
Pre-screened products will be divided into sirloin, ribeye, filet and Wagyu steaks for evaluation by the expert panel on their appearance, aroma, colour, marbling, fat content, etc.
Professional chefs must cook products within the prescribed time and standard. Scores from the two stages will be added together, and the product with the highest score in each category will receive the 2024 SIAL Annual Steak Award. All medal winners can use these official award labels for product packaging and marketing efforts.
All entrants must provide three servings each of sirloin, ribeye, filet, and Wagyu steaks and ensure that the steaks are free of quality issues and meet market standards.
These awards include the 2024 SIAL Annual Ribeye Steak, 2024 SIAL Annual Sirloin Steak, 2024 SIAL Annual Filet Steak and the 2024 SIAL Annual Wagyu Steak.
SIAL BSA award ceremony will take place on the 28th of May at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC).
