Clipper Teas has claimed its new tea bags are the world’s first plastic-free, unbleached, non-GMO tea bags. The new bags are made from a blend of plant cellulose fibres, abaca, and biodegradable PLA. UK-based CEO Emma Vass stated the company wanted to make ethical, sustainable choices to help its customers do the same. “As a brand, Clipper is all about the joy that comes with each cup of tea,” said Vass. “We believe the purest joy comes with a clear conscience.” The brand has stated it won’t be going back – after working long and hard to produce this tea bag; it will be implemented throughout Clipper’s range of teas. Clipper Teas is an organic, Fairtrade company.
