UK supermarket chain Morrison’s have begun stocking 1kg sized avocados. The emu egg sized fruit can be portioned into 12 and is being sold for just £2. They measure up to 25cm in diameter and have a 70 percent flesh to 30 percent stone ratio.
Avocado expert at Morrisons, James Turner, said: “Despite their size, the avocados still have a distinctive creamy flavour and the skin still turns from green to black when they’re ripe, so you’ll always know when they’re ready to eat.”
