CHEAPEST BASKET

Aldi has been named as the cheapest supermarket for a basket of everyday goods. The German retailer was found to be almost $10 cheaper than its nearest rival, Asda, when it came to the average cost of a basket of groceries. The poll assessed the average price of 33 everyday supermarket items from Asada, Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi and Sainsbury’s stores. Asada came in second place, followed by Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury’s while Waitrose was found to be the most expensive.
