China is set to become the world’s largest grocery market by 2023 surpassing the U.S. who is currently number one. Research from IGD Asia has predicted that not only will China become the largest market, but it will become larger than India, Japan, Indonesia and South Korea’s markets combined. Modern trade options, such as online shopping, seem to be the driving force behind the increase with major online retailers JD.com and Alibaba set to see significant growth.
