Coles to match customer donations to Red Cross

Until February 20th, Coles has pledged to match the donations customers make towards the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. The Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery team have been busy helping communities affected by natural disasters such as the floods in Far North Queensland and the bushfires in Tasmania and Victoria. The Red Cross aims to provide support and assistance to those who have had their lives uprooted in the disasters.

Steven Cain, Coles CEO said, “Our thoughts are with those who are affected by fires and floods, and we are doing what we can at a local level to help by donating blankets, food and pallets of water in Tasmania. We are also chartering planes and sea barge to deliver groceries and household essentials to flood-affected customers in Far North Queensland.” He also went on to say that monetary contribution is also essential to go the extra mile to help.

The funding will go the people in need as well as futureproofing the affected areas to minimise the risk of a repeat occurrence.
