UK supermarket chain Waitrose is set to close five underperforming stores while also planning to cut around 180 management positions over the next three years. All in all, this means there are now almost 700 jobs under threat at Waitrose. At the same time, however, the company wants to launch eight new stores this year, which would create 600 jobs.
