Iceland Advertisement Won’t Be Aired

UK supermarket chain Iceland has been banned from airing its Christmas advertisement this year due to it being too politically charged. The ad highlights the devastating impact that the deforestation of palm oil has on the world’s orangutan population.

The advertisement which was initially made by Greenpeace is said to breach the UK’s rules against political advertising. A spokesperson for the supermarket stated that they knew the advertisement would be a risk but wanted to give it their best shot.
