IN-STORE RECYCLING

A supermarket in Iceland is now offering in-store recycling to its customers. The scheme allows customers to unpack products after purchase and discard them into a bin which is then sorted by staff and sent off to recycling.

Kronan managing director, Gréta María Grétarsdóttir hopes that the move will mean an increase in the recycling of discarded materials. “Hopefully in the future, we can do much better than today,” she said. “But hopefully this is a step in the right direction.”
