SUNSHINE POWER FOR ALDI

Supermarket chain ALDI has announced plans to install solar panels across 30 of its Australian stores. The 4.6 MW of solar panels will also be added to the supermarket's distribution centre. Photon Energy Australia will equip the stores in New South Wales and Queensland.

Photon Energy’s managing director Michael Gartner said that they were excited to partner with the budget supermarket chain. “Photon Energy is very proud to be co-operating with ALDI to transform its stores into solar power generators capable of providing a large proportion of their daytime electricity consumption.”

The announcement comes as part of ALDI’s solar commitment in Australia which has already seen solar panels installed on its distribution centres in Brendale, Queensland, and in Prestons, New South Wales.
