Iper La grande is providing a Europen first, where customers can meet with a doctor in an innovative booth for ten minutes during their grocery shop. When entering the booth, customers will talk with a doctor on screen while a trained operator records pressure and temperature and can activate measurements such as an electrocardiogram, depending on the patient's needs.
Available at the Seriate hypermarket near Bergamo (a city northeast of Milan), the booth follows the hours of the store and is open Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 9 pm.
“Post pandemic, we wanted to further consolidate the value of the hypermarket as an always open space and point of reference for the community, where in addition to shopping, now you can also monitor your health,” said Michela Bettoni, Director of Iper La grande I di Seriate.
General doctors appointments are available on demand there are also 24 specialist physicians such as cardiologists, nutritionists and dermatologists that can be booked within an hour of the visit.
“We are witnessing the change of telemedicine as we know it.”
The project is a joint collaboration between Buongiornodottore, the company that provides the medical staff, Whealthy Care Solutions, which worked on the technology and GSM, the company that manages the Iper la grande pharmacies.
“Buongiornodottore and SOS Pediatricians have been involved in innovative medical assistance throughout the national territory. When Iper asked us to be involved in the project, we were thrilled. In recent years, medicine and health services have changed dramatically, and telemedicine represents one of these changes, perhaps the most important. For this reason, we are happy to make our experience and professionalism available to customers of the Iper group," said Alessandro Basso, CEO and Founder of SOS and Buongiornodottore
