In an effort to meet the growing demand for transparency from consumers Bud Light will be the first American beer to feature a large format serving and ingredients label on its case packaging. The new labelling will include nutritional information, serving suggestions and an ingredients list.
A spokesperson for the brand said that the decision to display the information was all about providing more transparency to customers. “In every aspect of their lives, people are demanding more and more transparency, and Bud Light wants beer drinkers to have more information when it comes to choosing their brew, right at their fingertips on the packaging.”
While comprehensive labelling is enforced on most packaged foods, alcoholic beverages are not required to display this information. The new packaging will be available in American stores from February.
