SHOPPING FOR COFFINS IN AUSTRALIA

A low-cost retailer has decided to diversify its offering by selling budget burial coffins and caskets. A Costco Wholesale store in Melbourne, Australia, has already introduced for sale 14 different coffins and caskets, ranging from $360 to $3,800, with plans to do the same in seven more Australian supermarkets.
Coffins are made in either China or Italy. While Australia is the first foreign market to introduce this range, Costco has been selling it in the US for years and, according to manufacturer Scientia, its cut-price range can save customers thousands of dollars.
