THE “IT” DIET OF 2019

The pegan diet is set to be the “it” diet of 2019. A mix between veganism and paleo, the diet has seen a 337 percent increase in searches on Pinterest.

The diet was created by Dr Mark Hyman, who believes that both veganism and the paleo diet would be better if combined. “Vegan and paleo diets focus on foods that don’t raise our blood sugar, plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, healthy protein and fats, and no crap."

The diet mainly consists of plants, grapes and melons, lentils and a small amount of meat. The occasional dairy product is also okay as are berries.

The diet is said to be ideal for those wanting to go vegan but finding it too daunting.
