UK | M&S has revealed its brand-new 18,000 sq ft fresh market-style food store at the Cannock Orbital Retail Park, ahead of the festive season.
The relocated store is situated in the former Homebase store and is triple the size of M&S’ previous food store at Unit 4. Customers can now shop the entire M&S Food range from its renewal store format.
Highlights include a brand-new in-store bakery and coffee counter, offering a range of barista-made hot and iced drinks, including a Spiced Turmeric Latte.
Elsewhere, M&S’ popular hot chicken counter is serving up British rotisserie chicken in butter-basted and BBQ flavours, perfect for lunch, dinner or the family.
For those customers craving handcrafted sushi, a separate Mai Sushi counter offers a range of choices, from gyozas to California rolls.
With a few days until Christmas, the countdown is officially on, and Cannock Store Manager Mat Stephenson has picked his five festive favourites:
- Collection Easy Peelers with leaves, part of M&S’ festive fresh market specials
- Collection 8 mini turkey feast toasters, part of the four for three party food offer
- Brand-new rosé mulled wine, combining orange, vanilla and mulled spice flavours
- The classic festive magic projector tin, offering some M&S magic
- British poinsettia gift bag, available in red or yellow
Customers will also find a selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables in-store from M&S’ Select Farms, over 60 of which are based in Staffordshire, as well as dedicated Flower and Wine Shops.
M&S’ Remarksable Value range of over 100 everyday essentials is available across the store, price benchmarked against key competitors but with an M&S quality point of difference, alongside its recently expanded Bigger Pack Better Value offer.
M&S Cannock is the first of twelve former Homebase sites M&S is investing in across the UK to create brand-new, larger-format food stores, creating over 550 jobs nationwide. It is one of more than 20 new or renewed stores in the second half of this financial year.
“It’s been amazing to showcase the new store to our customers this morning, and the festive cheer has been fantastic. Now triple the size of our previous store, we can truly offer the very best of M&S Food, with the unbeatable quality we’re known for,” said Store Manager and Staffordshire local Mat Stephenson.
“A massive thank you to my team for all their work getting everything read,y and to our customers, we are so excited to help deliver some M&S magic this Christmas and beyond.”
The ribbon was cut on the new store just by long-serving store colleagues and in-store bakers Trish and Sarah, celebrating 40 and 39 years with M&S, respectively.
