New Whole Foods Market in Falls Church, Virginia, Now Open

USA | Whole Foods Market opened a 45,000-square-foot store in Falls Church, Virginia.

The new location at Broad Street replaced the long-standing store at Leesburg Pike, which has been a part of the community for more than 25 years.

The new Falls Church store’s product assortment includes over 700 locally sourced items from the DC, Maryland and Virginia area, each meeting Whole Foods Market’s rigorous Quality Standards.

“We’re proud to continue serving the Falls Church community as we have for more than 25 years, now from our new, expanded location,” said Sergio Pardo, Store Team Leader at Whole Foods Market.

“This store showcases the best of local producers and brands from the DMV area, offering a curated selection of fresh and unique products. Our team is excited to welcome customers into a space designed to deliver both exceptional service and an elevated shopping experience.”

Some features of the relocated Falls Church store include a full-service seafood counter featuring only sustainable wild-caught or Responsibly Farmed seafood and a large selection of ready-to-cook seafood.

There is also a specialty department dedicated to celebrating cheesemakers and artisan producers. The cheese counter is overseen by trained cheesemongers who can offer recommendations for any occasion.

Opening morning, customers were treated to complimentary coffee from 1790 Coffee and baked goods from Whisked by Jenna. The first 300 shoppers in line were given a limited-edition Falls Church tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon featuring offers of up to USD 100.

Additionally, during the opening morning, Whole Foods Market donated food to Northern Virginia Food Rescue. The nonprofit previously received a refrigerated van from the company, which regularly picks up surplus food from Whole Foods Market stores to help prevent food waste and serve the surrounding community.

Both donations were part of Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, which aims to enhance the ability of local food rescue organisations to transport food to areas facing the most significant need: each donated van can rescue more than 1 million pounds of food, equating to over 866,000 meals, per year.
