CROATIA | SPAR Croatia opened a new supermarket in the city of Pakrac, West Slavonija.
The new SPAR Supermarket, with a retail sales area of 990m², offers a well-stocked fish and meat department, providing fresh products daily, and a hot deli counter with a variety of options. Shoppers can enjoy a seamless checkout with four self-checkouts available.
This is the second SPAR Supermarket in the town, located in the Pakrac commercial zone at the southern entrance to the city.
Pakrac, located around 120 kilometres from Zagreb and 130 kilometres from Osijek, is an idyllic starting point for hiking and cycling tours in the surrounding area. The store offers free parking with 83 spaces, ensuring easy access for all customers.
The new SPAR supermarket brings employment opportunities to 45 staff members and is a vibrant addition to the community.
In a gesture of community support, SPAR Croatia donated €2,000 to the Pakrac voluntary fire brigade upon the store’s opening, highlighting their commitment to local initiatives and community spirit. SPAR Croatia has provided extensive support and awareness of the local fire brigades in the past few years.
A licence agreement was granted to ASPIAG (Austrian SPAR International AG) by SPAR International in 2004. Brand development has primarily occurred through SPAR Supermarkets and INTERSPAR Hypermarkets, both through the take-over of existing chains and investment in new stores. SPAR Croatia has a strong local sourcing programme and offers selected local entrepreneurs access to the formal market.
