FINLAND | Tokmanni, the SPAR brand license holder in Finland, has opened the fifth EUROSPAR in the country in North Karelia.
This EUROSPAR supermarket is the first to open in the region and is located in Raatekangas, Joensuu. The new opening is part of the continued growth of the SPAR brand in Finland, which returned in 2025.
Each EUROSPAR supermarket is designed according to international best practice from the global SPAR retail network. The concept was designed to offer thousands of grocery products at a competitive price-quality ratio, meeting customers’ weekly shopping needs in a single trip.
Inside the new EUROSPAR supermarket in Joensuu, thousands of products are on offer, ranging from Finnish products and locally sourced delicacies to internationally renowned brands.
Additionally, nearly 200 SPAR Own Brand products are available in-store and online across food and non-food items.
Food-to-go is also a focus, with the supermarket offering a variety of hot meals, including grilled chicken, SPAR pinsas, which combine elements of pizzas and focaccias, SPAR pizzas, and SPAR burgers. The SPAR Bakery concept and the Picadeli salad bar are also available.
Listening to local customers in Raatekangas, the supermarket will additionally operate a popular service counter focused on fish and meat.
“One of Finland’s largest Tokmanni stores, the Tokmanni store in Raatekangas in Joensuu, has been renovated into a Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entity. In addition to the versatile and affordable Tokmanni, customers will find an affordable, high-quality grocery store under the same roof – the EUROSPAR supermarket,” said Harri Koponen, Vice President responsible for the store network and concept.
“Together, Tokmanni and EUROSPAR offer customers an even more interesting product range at affordable prices, without forgetting local food products.”
