Van Den Brink Poultry has launched a new free-range chicken brand - George & Jo’s, that gives New Zealander’s the choice to buy 100 percent antibiotic-free chicken. The family-owned business underwent extensive trials over the last year to achieve an antibiotic-free flock.
In New Zealand, one registered antibiotic is routinely added to feed for the health and welfare of birds, under veterinary supervision. This antibiotic is not registered in New Zealand for use by humans.
George & Jo’s provides consumers with a 100 percent confidence that the entire food chain and processes used in growing and producing the range of products are free of antibiotics. The new range includes fresh free range whole chickens, breast fillets, thigh fillets, schnitzels, nibbles, drumsticks, kebabs, ready-to-eat products, and livers.
