At just 21, owner-operator Priya Patel is one of the youngest supermarket owner-operators in New Zealand. Having grown up working in her family's dairy and taking ownership of the Whanganui store in late 2024, Patel has a deep-rooted passion for retail and community connection, which she brings to the newly converted store.
"Opening as FreshChoice is extremely exciting because I see so much potential to serve our local community with a modern, welcoming, and complete one-stop shop," she said.
"Our business philosophy is simple: put the customer first, listen to their feedback, and ensure every person who walks through our doors feels valued and looked after. My team and I are thrilled to bring this refreshed shopping experience to Whanganui."
