Bennetto Natural Foods are delighted to be working in partnership with Forest & Bird to release first of the original dark bars in 60% cocoa. With a limited amount produced and original illustration of the beautiful kākāpō- the 'New Zealand Bird of the Year’, the bars will be sure to fly off the shelf.
These critically endangered ‘Moss Chickens’ use to live throughout Aotearoa but today they only survive on predator free islands. Thanks to intensive conservation efforts, the kākāpō have come back from the brink of extinction from just 51 birds in the 1990’s to around 200 individuals today. With every wholesale purchase of these bars, Bennetto will donate all their profits (about $1 per bar) directly to Forest & Bird to enable them to continue this critical conservation work.
As with all Bennetto range, the focus is on rich but creamy dark chocolate from wholefood, organic, Fairtrade ingredients and single origin cocoa sources. All vegan and gluten free certified.
