Over the last few weeks, New World Waitara have been involved with a massive community hangi promotion at the local marae, in support of the Waitara Foodbank. The store donated all of the produce for the hangi, and sold tickets through the checkouts to raise a massive $4,000! The Waitara Foodbank can now come into the store and spend this money on much-needed food over the next few months. The feedback from the community and customers has been amazing, and Sharon and John Williams even helped package the hangi and delivered it to some of the people who couldn't pick their food up. Nice work guys!
