AUSTRALIA | Lactalis has announced the appointment of David Breckenridge as Chief Executive Officer of Lactalis Australia, effective November 2026.
The appointment brings the Lactalis Australia and Lactalis-Mainland Dairy Australia teams together, marking an important milestone in the evolution of its Australian dairy operations.
Breckenridge will lead the combined business into its next phase of growth, building on progress already achieved across both organisations and the strengths of its people, brands, and customer relationships.
“We have exceptional brands, talented people and strong customer partnerships that provide a strong foundation for future growth,” said Breckenridge.
“Significant progress has already been made. My focus will be on building on that momentum, unlocking new opportunities and creating value for customers, consumers, farmers and our people. I am excited to work with our teams across Australia as we build a stronger Lactalis business."
The appointment follows significant progress integrating Lactalis Australia and Lactalis-Mainland Dairy Australia since the acquisition of Fonterra's consumer and associated businesses earlier this year.
Mal Carseldine, currently CEO of Lactalis Australia, remain with the business until the end of the year to support the leadership transition.
“Australia is an important market for Lactalis. The evolution of our leadership structure reflects our confidence in the future direction of our business. Bringing our Australian businesses together under one leadership structure creates a stronger, more aligned business with the scale and capability to deliver long-term sustainable growth,” said Alban Damour, General Manager, Lactalis Asia Oceania Africa Zone.
“David brings deep industry experience, strong relationships and a proven track record of leadership. He is exceptionally well placed to lead the business through the next phase of growth and integration."
Damour also thanked Carseldine for his leadership, commitment and contribution to Lactalis Australia.
Under his leadership, Lactalis Australia has strengthened its market position while leading, alongside his team, a complete transformation of our operations in Australia. His support over the coming months will help ensure a smooth transition as we continue to build one stronger business.
