Demand for Mexican Cuisine Sees Supplier Upsize Products

New Zealand’s leading Mexican food product supplier, Ay, Caramba, has upsized its most popular products to foodservice size.

Ay, Caramba offers a range of high-quality and authentic Mexican ingredients and products. It’s also the sole distributor of brands including Minerva Mexican craft beer, La Chata ready-to-eat dishes, and Mezcal Agasajo liquor.

The company currently supplies a wide range of Mexican restaurants across New Zealand, including Frida and Taco Taco in Auckland, and Viva Mexico and Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina in Wellington. It also supplies distributors Bidfood and Food Masters.

Founder Arturo Luna said the expansion into foodservice size products will allow further growth of the company’s distribution capabilities and is an opportunity to expand its offerings.

“Taking the next step into foodservice size products is really exciting for us as we look to supply more restaurants and distributors with our authentic Mexican products,” said Arturo.

Whilst some of Ay, Caramba’s products are already popular, Luna is excited to deliver more unique Mexican flavours for Kiwis to enjoy.

According to Menulog, Mexican cuisine was the most popular order via Uber Eats in 2020 alongside North American cuisine, with tacos doubling in popularity compared to the previous year.

“We’re excited to introduce more New Zealanders to delicious and authentic Mexican food as we grow,” said Arturo. “All of our products are as authentic as it comes, so Kiwis can enjoy the true taste of Mexico – particularly while we’re unable to travel.”
