Ending The Year On A Low

Woolworths NZ

Woolworths is committed to helping customers stretch their budget further this festive season. It has added more seasonal products to its Low Price programme and will keep other grocery essentials Low Price levels even longer.

The grocery retailer introduced its new Low Price programme in September and is keeping customer favourites on the programme for summer, along with adding seasonal treats that will bring the number of products on Low Price to over 2000.

Woolworths New Zealand Commercial Director Pieter De Wet said that Low Prices mean Kiwis can start planning their Christmas menu today, and prices will be the same when they shop for that menu in a couple of weeks.

“It’s all about giving certainty to New Zealanders, both on their everyday products like cheese, eggs, butter and bread but also on more holiday specials like ham and some of our Christmas fruit mince pies,” said De Wet.

Woolworth NZ is also pleased to see signs that food inflation is easing, and some of our key meat and produce lines are either the same price as last year or beating inflation and are lower than they were in December 2022.

“It’s been a tough year for many New Zealanders, and it’s a relief to see we’re ending the year on a different sort of low, with prices getting better and several good signs for 2024. We are still seeing challenges with products like kūmara, which Cyclone Gabrielle heavily impacted, but our growers are hopeful about the next harvest.”

Low Prices are in addition to the thousands of weekly specials that Woolworths New Zealand offers.
