FOODSTUFFS FIND POTENTIAL PINEAPPLE LUMP HERO

Foodstuffs put out the call to save Jaffas and Pineapple Lumps and now, less than a week later, that call has been answered. On June 2nd the Foodstuffs North Island and South Island CEOS released an impassioned plea to confectionery manufactures across the country to take on the manufacturing mantle, with the CEOs noting that they were “gutted at the prospect that the days are numbered for our iconic Jaffas, Pineapple Lumps, Buzz Bars and Pinky bars.”

“So, if you’re sitting on the fence. Get off it now. Be a saviour. Give us a call. And let’s work together to rescue these awesome treats.”

Now, one team from Dunedin, led by Dr Jim O’Malley, has put their hand up to rescue the factory and continue manufacturing the Kiwi candies. Foodstuffs has restated its pledge to get behind the team and help them set up and stock the products in PAK’n’SAVE, New Word and Four Square stores across the country – should their bid be successful.
