AUSTRALIA | Drakes Supermarkets has announced the acquisition of the Foster’s family supermarket in Millicent, marking the company’s 70th store and a significant step in its regional growth.
Following strong customer support for the recently opened Drakes Mount Gambier supermarket, Millicent is a natural next step in Drakes’ expansion across the Southeast.
Drakes is excited to bring its point of difference to the Millicent community while continuing the strong connections the store has built over the years.
Former Foster’s Foodland owner Brian Foster thanked all the loyal Foster's customers and staff for their support over the years and looked forward to watching the business grow with the Drakes family.
The Millicent community can look forward to a full-range supermarket experience, with exceptional fresh food, competitive pricing and the outstanding customer service that has been instilled across the business. The store will continue to stock customer favourites and will endeavour to source any specific products the community loves.

Foster’s Supermarket was officially rebranded on the 19th of January 2026 and is now trading as Drakes Supermarkets.
