To round out Plastic Free July, this week New World will launch its latest reusable bag collection. Each bag is made from four recycled plastic bottles which is great news for the environment. Shoppers can look stylish as they head into store to pick up an evening meal or a bite to eat. The bags feature pictures of native birds, and they are easily stored in handbags or backpacks.

“Foodstuffs and our retail brands PAK'nSAVE, New World and Four Square, have a huge number of programmes under way to help the business and our customers tread more lightly on the planet; from going first with BYO containers at scale, Food in the Nude and proudly offering the Ecostore refillery, to banning beads, buds and bags, we’re definitely making a difference," said Antoinette Laird, Head of Corporate Affairs & CSR. “'Reuse' is an absolute priority and one of our signatures has always been our beautiful and iconic reusable bags.  We’re excited to see these roomy, recycled-bottle bags roll out over the coming days.  We know our customers will love them.”

The new collection will roll out in the next few weeks in selected New World supermarkets.
